WORDS

What's contained in a word?
A question not so absurd,
The alphabet on a skilful palette,
Roots of a culture, varying 'round the planet.

Ah! but in the written form,
Some words do perform,
Making pleasant reading,
Of ideas some find beseeching.

And as a spoken sound,
Such words can be found,
Made with conscious direction,
Driven by acoustic projection.

Still words are made of more,
Telling emotions like a lore,
It's power can be found,
In the text or in the sound.

But be that as it may,
A word will surely say.
Come hither down this way,
'Cos words will surely stay.
